Our pledge to a sustainabile future
We are committed to protecting Vanuatu's local environment, cultures and communities.
Vanuatu culture forms an important part of the ethos at Ramada resort Port Vila. Many Vanuatu people hold strong spiritual beliefs, and there is a rich tradition which involves a deep reverence for the natural world.
This is reflected in many aspects of Vanuatu life, from the use of traditional medicine to the careful management of natural resources.
Our Sustainability efforts
We started small with the removal of plastic straws. We continue to strive to reduce our footprint on this beautiful place we call home. Our dedicated green team, made up of team members from each of our departments, meet regularly, reviewing what we have done and what we can do to continue our journey to sustainable and environmentally conscious operation. Our team are already diverting all organic kitchen waste to local villages and farm to feed livestock, we work with local recyclers to recycle as much as we can, bulk amenities & local partnerships.
With an abundance of sunny weather, we plan to make the most of this by installing solar panels throughout the resort to turn that lovely tropical sun into energy, so our guests can run that Air Conditioning knowing it is from renewable and carbon free energy.

Animal Vanuatu Association
The Animal Vanuatu Association is an INDEPENDENT charity that provides veterinary services to deserving members of the public and their animals. We are proud to support the AVA through our ongoing charity initiatives. We donate any damaged towels and linen to the association, ensuring that these items are repurposed to benefit animals in need. Additionally, we encourage guests to participate in our book donation or swap program, providing them with a relaxing way to enjoy their time by the pool while also contributing to the welfare of animals in Vanuatu. All funds raised through this program go directly to supporting the valuable work of the charity, allowing us to make a positive impact on the local community and environment.
